The API provides a feedback loop offering a single indicator value summarizing stream health, focusing initially on stream drift metrics.
Stream drift measures the difference between the duration of an encoder connection and the media received, which indicates streaming issues.
The API returns session average, deviation from rolling average stream drift, and a string status estimating stream health.
The tool is now available in Public Beta for all Mux Video customers without additional charges and aims to give broadcasters confidence in their livestream connections.
