Platform SSO allows for simpler user authentication that extends to the macOS login window, enabling offline access and syncing local account passwords with Identity Providers (IdPs).
The new features include user enrollment status in System Settings, just-in-time local account creation, and updated group membership for users upon IdP authentication.
Though Platform SSO's adoption depends on IdP support, which is currently limited, Kandji anticipates that several IdPs will soon enable features that leverage Platform SSO.
Kandji is prepared to distribute the necessary SSO extension payload through its MDM solution as IdP support for Platform SSO emerges.
